A Chinese-food deliveryman vanished on the job in the Bronx Friday night and cops are worried about his fate, police said yesterday.
Ming Kung Chen, 35, who works for Happy Dragon restaurant at 3388 Jerome Ave., was last seen taking an order to a nearby housing project off West Mosholu Parkway at 8:30 p.m.
Fellow workers found his bicycle outside the delivery address when he failed to return, said Tina Lin, a friend of the restaurant’s manager.
It appeared that Chen had made it into the building – but never made it out, police said.
Chen, of Edgewater Park, the Bronx, was carrying about $200 when he disappeared, Lin said.
Lin said that Chen, whose family is in China, has been working at the restaurant for two years.
“He’s very stable, a very hardworking person,” she said. “There is no way he would just go somewhere.”
Two years ago, 18-year-old Huang Chen was beaten to death by three teens while delivering food to an apartment in Rochdale Village, Queens.
Police are asking for anyone with knowledge of Ming Kung Chen’s disappearance to call Crime Stoppers at (800) 577-TIPS.
