Take Out Film

Film makers Sean Baker and Shih-Ching Tsou made this feature film in 2004. I first saw the film at NYU as part of an Asian/Pacific/American Institute event. Baker and Tsou talked about filming in a Chinese take-out place on the upper west side. They also placed a craigslist ad to find delivery locations in Manhattan. This adds to the cinema vérité.

Along with the delivery montage and loud restaurant, I am especially intrigued by the bicycling, elevator and mugging scenes.
